Neuropeptides
Neuropeptides act as signalling molecules within the central nervous system, typically at concentrations far below those of classical neurotransmitters and often with slower, more sustained receptor engagement. Several of the best-studied synthetic examples are short analogs of endogenous fragments, stabilised against enzymatic degradation by an added terminal sequence such as Pro-Gly-Pro.
They are grouped by where they act, not by structure.
