Handling & verification

Glutathione (GSH) is the endogenous tripeptide γ-Glu-Cys-Gly and the principal intracellular thiol redox buffer. It is supplied in reduced form as a reference compound for in vitro redox and oxidative-stress work, and ships as a white lyophilized powder.

Presentation and storage

Supplied lyophilized in a sealed vial. Store the sealed vial at −20 °C for long-term storage; refrigeration at 2–8 °C is adequate over shorter periods. Keep away from light and moisture.

Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening, so atmospheric moisture does not condense onto the cake. The free cysteine thiol oxidises readily to the disulphide dimer (GSSG) on exposure to air and moisture, so keep the vial tightly sealed and reconstitute shortly before use.

Reconstitution

Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water. Direct the stream down the inside wall of the vial rather than onto the cake, then let it stand and swirl gently — do not shake, as agitation can denature the peptide.

  • 1500 mg vial in 10 mL diluent gives a 150 mg/mL stock
  • 1500 mg vial in 15 mL diluent gives a 100 mg/mL stock
  • 1500 mg vial in 30 mL diluent gives a 50 mg/mL stock

Once reconstituted, store at 2–8 °C and protect from light. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles — aliquot the stock if it will be drawn on more than a few times. Our reconstitution calculator works out any other combination.

Common questions

Does Glutathione come with a certificate of analysis?

Not yet. Testing in progress - certificate published on arrival.

What purity is Glutathione?

Testing in progress - certificate published on arrival. When the certificate for the shipping lot is issued it states the measured figure, the detection wavelength and the method used, so the number can be checked rather than taken on trust.

How is Glutathione supplied and where does it ship?

It is supplied as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in a sealed vial, protected against light and impact. Full US shipping, operating from Texas. Delivery estimates are provided by the carrier at checkout.

Do you ship Glutathione near me?

Yes — anywhere in the United States. Glutathione ships to any address in all 50 states and Washington DC from our Texas base. There is no storefront and no local pickup, so there is no branch to visit nearby: every order travels by carrier to the address entered at checkout, where the available shipping options are shown. We ship within the United States only and do not ship internationally. Supplied for laboratory research use only.

How should Glutathione be stored?

Keep the lyophilized vial cold and dark — refrigerated for near-term use, frozen for longer storage. Once reconstituted it belongs in the refrigerator and its usable life is measured in weeks rather than months. Aliquot rather than thawing the same vial repeatedly, because freeze-thaw cycles cost more stability than most people expect.

How do I reconstitute Glutathione?

Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner wall of the vial so the stream does not strike the powder directly, then let it dissolve on its own — swirl gently if needed, never shake. The volume you add sets the concentration, so decide the concentration first and work backwards. Our free reconstitution calculator does that arithmetic and gives the volume to draw per aliquot.

Is Glutathione for human use?

No. Glutathione is supplied strictly as a reference material for laboratory research use only. It is not a drug, food, cosmetic or medical device, it is not for human or veterinary consumption, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. We do not provide dosing guidance or protocols of any kind.
